Lotus to unveil Evroa GTE Road Car Concept at Pebble Beach
ASRE KHODRO: Lotus has announced it will be unveiling a new Evora-based concept at this year’s Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. Dubbed the Evora GTE Road Car Concept, the show car is essentially a street-legal version of the Evora GTE racecar.
The Lotus Evora GTE is set to compete in the new global motorsports GTE category this year, with the GTE Concept hinting at a possible road-going version of the two-door.Lotus didn’t give any specs on the GTE Concept’s engine, but did say it produces over “420 bhp from its race-developed engine.” Given that “race-developed” tag, the GTE Road Car Concept likely has a detuned version of the racer’s specially developed 4.0L V6. Whatever the case the GTE Concept will send its power to the rear wheels via a sequential AMT racing gearbox. To continue the racing theme, the GTE Concept rolls on a set of ultra-lightweight forged alloy wheels with center-lock hubs wrapped with Pirelli P-Zero Corsa tires. Lotus is keeping quiet on any production plans, but we’d put our money on a low-volume version of the Evora GTE Road Car Concept reaching showrooms in the not-too-distant future. 18 Thursday August 2011 12:54
