‘The EF4 and diesel engine in Iran Khodro’s products’ basket’
Asrekhodro: By the end of the current year 100 units, and later on during the coming years over 180 units of CNG and Gasoline based of Ef7 engines will be produced.
According to Asrekhodro news agency quoting Ik Co Press, Mr. Mir JavadSoleymani Irankhodro’s CEO deputy in quality and development in this regard said, ‘So far,productionof 75% of this very type of engine has been accomplished.’
EF7 engine has a very high torque rate that is 4000, because of which this vehicle is the most youth-popular model in Iran. He also continued that, we still encounter a lot of difficulties in order to provide the required standards. Nevertheless the process is improving.
This official mentioned that, so far we have manufactured 60 thousand units of Samand LX equipped with EA7 engine when 50thousands of which are gasoline based.
Iran khodro deputy added, gasoline based of EF7 production has been started since the previous summer. However due to the optimum level of itsperformance on the CNG ones,consumers preferthat model more.
He announced the expansion of production capacity for this particular model from 120 thousand units to 300 thousands once by the next year (Nourooz). Therefore, because of such an increase in the next year more than 180 thousands of EF7 engines will be produced.
Iran khodro CEO’s deputy in quality and development with regards to the production capacity,that is over 320 units per day,while 220 of which are CNG based said; since January (Bahman) this rate is going to be 480 thousand units and later on 700 thousands in the year of 1391.
“The comparison ratio on this very model is 111, which helps it to reach the best function” he said, and continued:‘Unlike the ordinary engine which has performance decrease by 16% during the switching, this type of engine only loses 7 or 8 percent of the operation function during the switching from Gasoline into CNG and the same rate in the vice-versa procedure.’
Due to this project’s importance, within the past number of years Iran Chodro has supported the manufacturers with providing engineering consultation servicesfor them, because of such, they have reached their full potential in production.
Soleymani also presented the quality control and anti-error systems both will be installed since November (Aban) in EF7 production’s lines and also emphasized that, in this way even the smallest error or poor quality parts will be immediately returned.
This official further pronounced other up-coming product E1 engine which belongs to EF7 category as well, but with some modification in cylinder designing which leads us to achieve another 0.8% Gasoline consumption reduce.
In order to have full self-sufficiency in this industry he introduced the XUM engine. This is the more advanced model from XU category whose all designing, prototyping, test and experiments, validation has been developed by Iran Khodros’ Engines Development Research Center. This product is now taking the tentative and necessary tests.
Soleymani expressed hope that,the XUM engines come to the market by the end of the current year and EF4 engines which also has been designed, tested and validated by Iran Khodro’s specialists as well, plus the national diesel engine are going to be released in the local market in the next year.
According to him IranKhodro’s new engines are recognized with Euro 4 and 5 standards criteria and said, the XUM model with the engine capacity of 2000 Cc is ideal for those who want to have a more powerful and consequently faster vehicle.
This official emphasized that, based on Iran Khodro’s practical planning, this company will spend more time on FTU engines’ class; therefore, the remain models which cannot meet the Euro 4 standards criteria are going to be gradually eliminated.
